Don’t worry about the post below, but THANKS to everybody who suggested something š I ended up going with my first idea, which I thought was crappy, but the teacher actually liked it. So, whatever. Here ’tis:
That teacher also brought up something I’ve been wondering for a while. I’m taking Life Drawing this semester, which means Figure Drawing. But the Figure Drawing teacher seems to want to teach TECHNIQUES over actual figure drawing. He’s not teaching anatomy or proportions. Some of the people in this class have never had to draw figures before, and, like my teacher said, you can’t abstract something until you know what you’re abstracting. I mean, like the technique I described day before yesterday. The crayon thing. That had nothing to do with Figure Drawing. It was a neat technique, yes, but I still think in a level 1 figure drawing class, you should teach anatomy and proportions FIRST.
